WOMAN: A strange noise fills the house. The clock reads 2:53 AM.
The thermostat on the wall says 52º.
Something isn’t right. The door cracks open. Diego’s little face appears.
He runs down the hallway, opens the bathroom door, turns on the light.
He is taking longer than usual in the bathroom.
The baby girl cries non-stop in the other room.
Nothing will calm her. A very strange silence is felt from the bathroom.
Suddenly, the toilet flushes. Diego comes out of the bathroom with a smile that I can’t understand. He stares at me and asks me to bring him water.
CHILD: Ma, can you bring me some water?
ANNCR: The fear you will feel will stay with you for a long time.

GUY: Little by little, I realized that riding in the tow truck had been a mistake. I didn’t recognize this road at all.
“We’re taking a shortcut,” the wrecker driver said, like he was reading my mind.
Somehow I knew better. It all made sense: the music he was humming to himself, the coil of rope in the floorboard, the screwdrivers, the flashlights, and a few gallons of water.
We get to the repair shop and he has me get out. With a crooked smile he wishes me good luck with the arrangement.
TOW DRIVER: Good luck!
ANNCR: The fear you will feel will stay with you for a long time.
